Introducing
GM Ringway
The GM Ringway is Greater Manchester’s walking trail. Covering all ten boroughs of the city-region, the 300-km trail explores an astonishing variety of natural and historical sites.
Easily accessed by public transport, each of the trail’s 20 stages offers a unique walking experience. The GM Ringway visits some of the region’s most iconic landscapes and also gives residents and visitors the opportunity to explore Greater Manchester’s rich cultural heritage.
The project is led by two charities – CPRE, the countryside charity, Ramblers (Greater Manchester & High Peak Area) – and is supported by a £250,000 Heritage Fund grant.
Sign up to the app-based challenge so you can log your progress and complete any stages independently that you miss with the group?
Try it out for free on the Go Jauntly app. Available on the App Store or the Play Store
You can use www.PlotARoute.com to see the actual route for each of the 20 stages here
PlotARoute allows you to see each stage and also zoom in to see the actual route itself, the inclination, the distance and roughly how long it will take to go the whole distance
We recommend you use the Bee network to come to the start of each of the walks using the public transport rather than goign by car.
